About the Photographer

Perspective Through
the Lens

Back to Title Page

I am a photographer drawn to the edges — the places where the built world and the natural world press against each other. My work is not about choosing sides. It is about standing at the boundary and looking both ways.

“Every photograph is a certificate of presence — proof that something was there, and that I was there to see it.”

My interest in architecture began with a fascination for how humans impose order on space. My interest in nature began with the opposite — a fascination for how space resists that order. Photography became the tool through which I could hold both ideas at once.

Composition, for me, is about tension. I look for images where something is about to happen — where the vine is almost at the window, where the shadow is almost touching the tree. The best photographs live in that almost.

This portfolio is a curated selection of that ongoing conversation. It is not finished — the conversation never is. But these images represent the moments where I felt I had something worth saying.

Process

Reflections on Process

Composition

I think of composition as a conversation between elements. Leading lines, negative space, and the rule of thirds are starting points — but the real work is knowing when to break them. I look for natural frames within the scene: a doorway, a gap in the trees, a shadow that points somewhere.

Lighting

Light is the subject of every photograph, even when it appears to be something else. I prefer the transitional hours — early morning when mist still clings to surfaces, or late afternoon when shadows grow long and warm. Overcast days are underrated: they reveal texture without the distraction of harsh contrast.

Meaning

I don't believe photographs have fixed meanings — they have starting points. What I try to do is create images that give the viewer somewhere to begin. The rest is theirs. If a photograph makes someone pause and wonder, even for a moment, it has done its job.
